There is perhaps no other wrist that has yielded the same cultural influence as 007’s. For almost sixty-five years, his wrist was home to robust and great-looking watches that always got people talking.

Here’s a rundown of the watches worn by Bond, James Bond:

Rolex Submariner ref 6358 as seen on Dr. No

1962 | Dr. No

While the James Bond novel was first created in 1953, it was first adapted on film in 1962 with Dr. No. It starred Sean Connery, who wore a Rolex Submariner ref 6358.

1963 | On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
In James Bond novels, author Ian Fleming would always describe Bond as having exquisite taste in cars, clothes and watches. In the novel On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, it is confirmed that his watch is a Rolex. Fleming wore the brand himself, a Rolex Explorer ref 1016.

1963 – 64 | From Russia with Love and Goldfinger
The next two movies starred Sean Connery again and shows him wearing a Rolex Submariner 6538. It’s worth noting that the Bond Girl for the film, named Pussy Galore, also wore Rolex – a GTNN Master ref 6542.

1965 | Thunderball
Still starring Sean Connery, Bond wore two watches in this film: a Rolex Submariner to tell t.mes , and a Breitling Top t.mes as a Geiger counter.

1967 – 1971 | You Only Live Twice and Diamonds Are Forever
James Bond did not wear his usual Submariner for this film. It’s not confirmed but Bond fans suspect that it was a gold Gruen watch from Sean Connery’s personal collects ion.

1969 | On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
A new James Bond is introduced in Australian actor George Lazenby, who only plays the role once. In this film, Bond wore two watches – the Rolex Submariner ref 5513 and the Rolex Chronograph ref 6238.

1973 – 1983 | The Spy Who Loved Me, Live and Let Die and The Man with the Golden Gun
Roger Moore was introduced as the new James Bond, and the watches began having weaponry functions. He wore two Rolexes in these films – the Submariner ref 5513 and a GTNN Master, but in line with the quartz revolution, James Bond wore a Hamilton LED watch and different Seiko watches during this period.

1985 | A View to Kill
James Bond and the MI6 agents continued to be loyal to Seiko, but in his last film as Agent 007, Roger Moore mistakenly wore his personal Rolex Datejust in one of the scenes and it made a scene-stealing cameo. This film also marked the end of Seiko’s participation in the Bond film franchise.

1987 – 89 | The Living Daylights and License to Kill
Timothy Dalton takes over as James Bond. In The Living Daylights, Agent 007 wore a TAG Heuer Professional Night-Dive ref 980.031 and returned to the Rolex Submariner in License to Kill.

Pierce Brosnan debuts as James Bond; and a partnership between the 007 franchise and Omega begins. He wore the quartz version of the Omega Seamaster Professional 300M ref 2541.80 in the first film, and the Omega Seamaster Professional ref 2531.80 in the next three films.

2006 – 08 | Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace
Daniel Craig debuts as Agent 007 and continues wearing Omega. In Casino Royale, he wore the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M ref 2220.80 and the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean ref 2900.50.91, alternately.

2012 | Skyfall
This film marked the 50^th year of James Bond on the silver screen. For this film, Omega created the special edition Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M ref 232.30.42 with a limited run of 5,007 pieces. Daniel Craig wore a version that was especially created for the film, which was later on auctioned by Christie’s.

2015 | Spectre
In the latest Bond film, Daniel Craig returned on screen and wore an Omega Seamaster 300 Spectre, inspired by the original Omega Seamaster 300 from the 1960’s.

The 25^th Bond film is slated for release in 2019, and all we know for now is that Daniel Craig will be back for his fifth and final performance as the 007 agent. We are excited to see Bond’s watch, just as you surely are.
