IWC Portuguese As Seen on Stars

In every awards show, there is sure to be an IWC Portuguese watch hitting the red carpet.

The Portuguese Chrono was eventually made available in an 18k rose gold case. This version comes with either a stark black or sunburst gray dial, with complementing rose gold markers and hands. Paired with a brown leather strap, each element of the IWC Portuguese in rose gold is deliberate and superbly finished.

The Portuguese Automatic echoes the classic appeal of the original Portugieser first released in the 1930s. It features a balanced dial with two registers, in addition to the signature railway-track chapter ring, Arabic numerals and feuille hands. It also bears the legendary Pellaton winding system, made from extremely wear-resistant ceramic, and boasting a 7-day power reserve.

The Portuguese also comes in a Perpetual Calendar Moopnhase. With four subdials, IWC still managed to make the design feel comparatively uncluttered. The star of the dial is the moon phase at 12 o’clock, although it is not just an aesthetic work of art – it is extremely precise and diverges from the actual phase of the moon, by just 1 day in 577 years.
